"Experiencing love of God through Husband" Testimony
Following is a testimony shared by a sister on how she experiences the love of God through her husband.
"Be it small matter of inviting a guest or to the big financial decision of buying a home, my hubby consults with me and decides.
If I am not comfortable, he in-turn will not implement it. He really treats me as a partner rather than head-body pattern.
Yes, he is a head and no doubt we all in family honor him, and he does not implement dictatorship in family, though being the head, he dirties his hand in every possible way to support the home.
He sweeps and mops the house when maid does not turn up, when I do in one room, he does in another room. When babies cry, he cooks for them, as I try to console them.
Feeling blessed, the intention of me sharing this is for the Glory of the Lord Jesus who has kept the fruit of the Holy Spirit in my hubby.
One small example, on son's first birthday, my hubby had a plan of doing a party, he said that to me. I said it's been long time we as a family went out, shall we use this amount to go for a trip and celebrate his birthday just with a small cake on the way at grandpa's house.
My hubby answered though he wanted to do a party in Chennai, because I asked for it, he thought for a while and said OK, and planned out everything for the outing perfectly well.
Even if my hubby would have said no I am the head we are doing a party, I definitely would have accepted it to honor his headship and decision, but beyond that his love for me was seen (just like Christ loved) in thinking of me and by valuing my desires.
In many Christian homes, I see the pattern of submissions to husband by the wife, but rarely do I see the sacrificial love of husband. Praise God Jesus has given me such a partner to experience the Love of God though my hubby. My hubby will also say no when my suggestion contradicts the word of God, he also take time to explain why it is no."
