Celebrating 7th anniversary of Dad's departure!
I have invited some families & friends for a celebration for my dad's 3+ decades of life with me through whom God trained me & shaped me more than anybody else. Tomorrow Sunday, Mar 24th marks his 7th anniversary of his departure.
We are going to visit, praise God, & pray at his cemetery tomorrow, Sunday, at 5 pm to 6 pm IST followed by fellowship dinner at some restaurant nearby.
In case your schedule is open & flexible, kindly ping me to join us at either at the cemetery & then followed by restaurant OR directly to the restaurant tomorrow evening.
:-)
A brief on A.S. Raj:
(1) Born & grew-up in Nidamangalam, literally on the banks of Korai river in a mud house, was the 1st one to pass till 12th grade among his 8 siblings, 1st one to do 3 years of college in his community, worked at Coonoor during which time he married a Craigmore Estate/Coimbatore girl (my Mom
:-), & subsequently lived in Pollachi, & then Vellore diligently loving & leading his wife, me, & my sister, & finally relocated to Chennai upon our invitation from me & wife to our home.
(2) His supporting me from behind in my leading of my sister's wedding related discussions, its execution & his diligent updates to the project detailed plan, which I prepared & shared with him for my sister's wedding was excellent.
His proud remarks, "My son prepared a detailed plan for my daughter's wedding & it removed so much tensions out of me" to others were the words of affirmation that built me more than the Tata leadership training I received. ("Anybody who wants this for a sample detailed plan for their daughter or sister's wedding, can ping me
:-) }
(3) During his last 8 years with us in our home --- his balancing acts of meeting Mom's desires, being a good friend to me, as well as respecting my headship of our home --- was phenomenal.
{"Do joint family works now? Yes, ONLY if your dad can respect your headship of your home with a servant-leader mindset like my dad AND if you can endure 'can you learn this from your dad' frequent reminders from family members"
