3 milestones in following Christ

3 milestones understanding I received from Mr. Charles Spurgeon, which helps in not reaching exasperation stage in our living with Christ or not leading weak in faith brothers/sisters to exasperation stage in their living in Christ:

(1) Freedom from the guilt of our sins 

(2) Freedom from the power of our sins 

(3) Freedom from the presence of our sins

Most accomplish (1) in the very early stages of following Christ. 

(2) and (3) is a matter of time and indeed takes time in proportion  to the faith on Jesus we exercise. 

Many grey-haired folks among the people of God haven't reached (2) or (3) stage because of the cultural principles stronghold some of which deviate them from principles of Christ and his Apostles.

29 Apr 2019: Good morning, today's Bible passage is taken from Matthew 4:1-11. 😝Am I talking like a pastor? 😄😄 Today I decided to read a small but significant passage. It is about the temptation of Jesus. In the Bible it says that Jesus was led into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit and ate nothing for 40 days and 40 nights. Though this seems a bit ritualistic, Jesus, the son of God was fasting while praying, and so it is fine. Also, our God is not a ritualistic God; neither is his Son. When I read the phrase '40 days and 40 nights', I made reference to Noah and Moses: Noah was in the ark with his family and the animals while it rained for 40 DAYS AND 40 NIGHTS; Moses saw God's glory on Mount Sinai and stayed there for 40 DAYS AND 40 NIGHTS. I don't know whether there is any connection between Noah, Moses and Jesus Christ, but I hope I keep this in mind so that maybe in the future if I ever come across something like this it would be useful informa

Shall we first see what bible says about honoring and caring for our parents throughout their lives? Honoring Parents: Exodus 20:12: "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you." Proverbs 23:22: "Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old." Caring for Parents: 1 Timothy 5:4: "But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God."
