Finding everlasting enjoyment

24 A person can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in their own toil. This too, I see, is from the hand of God,

25 for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment?

26 To the person who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind. Ecc 2.

One of the true messages of bible is that enjoyment is a gift of God.

Our possessions, things, money, children, people can not enable us to keep enjoying the things we do.

But when we take these from the hand of God, we can have enjoyment all our life.

Such gift of joy is for those who continuously strives to please God.

Apostle Paul wrote to his son in the faith Timothy,

17 Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. 1 Tim 6.

How do we please God?

In many places in Bible, we see without faith it is impossible to please God.

It is that belief that God is there and that everything in life comes from His hand.

Yes, all things including pain, sorrow, bereavement, disappointment, gladness, happiness, and joy are gifts of God.

When we see life in these terms, every aspect of life can have its measure of joy, sorrow, pain, and grief.

We receive these as part of our blessings from God to enjoy and for our growth in Christ.

"28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8.

"5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Pro 3.
