Mathew 10 - 11 - Meditation by Kevin Samuel Premkumar
In Matthew 10, Jesus gives instructions to his disciples to flood the earth and to spread the good news.
In Matthew 11, he talks about John the Baptist as God's messenger whose coming was prophesied by the prophet Malachi. I found the passage rather ordinary, and nothing caught my eye except for the last part of Matthew 11.
"Then Jesus said, 'Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke fits perfectly, and the burden I give you is light.' "
[Matthew 11: 28-30, NLT ]
In the Teens' Camp that was recently organized by our church, Pastor James preached about the yoke that was placed on the neck of the young ox. The ox would grow up thinking that it cannot break the yoke at any point. Even when it grows to be a mighty bull, and is strong enough to break the yoke, it doesn't, because it thinks that this thing of little strength limits its freedom for the rest of its life.

Sin is like the yoke that Satan places on us. We cannot break it on our own, and as we get used to it, the devil can use it to possess us, just like the farmer uses it to control the bull. Satan will pull us towards his paths, lead us into the broad pathways, and ultimately direct us towards destruction. We need God to take of this yoke, and guide us to the right way. He will carry all our burdens.
